J Reynolds Carpentry

"We asked Jordan to supply 3 solid wood shutter doors to our windows on the first floor. He gave us what turned out to be an amazing price. He initially gave us a deadline for delivery, which was missed by some 3 months, and when he did deliver it was only 1 instead of all 3 (and only asked us to pay for the one that was delivered). We were very pleased with his excellent job, but then he disappeared and refused all our attempts to communicate with him. He even refuses to share the design/specifications of his work with us, a service for which we were prepared to pay. (In the meantime we have discovered that the shutters he made are 90% MDF with only small decorations in solid wood - still the price he gave us was excellent for what he has done. This might explain why he refuses to communicate with us). This has left us in a very difficult situation. The set of shutters he has delivered sets a precedent, and matching what he has done without the designs/specifications is a lot more expensive, because the joinery company have to put in work to try to figure out how to replicate his mouldings, etc. He is an outstanding craftsman and a very pleasant person, and he probably doesn't understand how damaging his behaviour can be. If you decide to deal with his company you should make it clear that money can only be paid in full at the end of the job."
